Hi all- I am a qualified primary school teacher in the the Waterford area. Wondering about July provisions. I am available all summer to work with children. Not sure if this is the right place to post this thread. Thanks

I've seen another website advertised here called schooldays.ie . You might try the post on July Provision there.

Also, many people not directly involved may not realise what you are referring to when you speak of July Provision. It would be helpful to explain what it is - additional help for pupils on the autistic spectrum during the month of July, when their regular schools are closed.
    Hope that advice is helpful.

A Question: Is the July Provision Programme available this Summer? Will it be funded. I notice for www.education.ie website, and any other contact point, that there is no Application Form for 2010 available there??? Any update on this???

I know parents who received app forms after directly contacting the DES before this form came online.

How many hours of tutoring is the child supposed to receive - are there any guidelines etc available?

If anyone has any personal experience with this I'd appreciate some information. Or if anyone can point me in the direction of any info online - other than the application on the dept website as that's all I've found and I can't get the Dept to answer their phones.

    Thanks

Its for 40 hours during July. Generally 2 hours per day but this can be changed depending on childs and tutor circumstances for example for three weeks it would be 3.5 hours per day.

I have no experience of it yet, but I have applied to be a tutor.

The special needs board on www.rollercoaster.ie is also a good place to post.
