GhD panic!

    This seems to be a routine thing for me...do a quick job with the ghd before rushing out of the house to work, then forget whether or not I've switched it off and have a day-long panic at work wondering if the house has gone up in flames...

    Left the house at 5.30am and ran the straightener over it for about thirty seconds, and CAN'T REMEMBER if I plugged it out. Left it lying on my bed. Hoping to hell my dodgy memory is just failing me here as usual, but can anyone convince me the house won't be burnt down by the time I get in?? (will probably be 4pm...ghd is on the bottom of my bed...flatmates away...)

    :confused::confused::confused:

    I'm forever thinking I didn't unplug the GHD as well.
    Have been mid way to work on many days and had to do a U turn to find I had of course unplugged it.
    I even had a think about it this morning driving in as I don't remember unplugging it but didn't turn around this morning....so here's hoping!

    The new GHDs (mark IV) turn themselves off after they've been on too long, godsend for me cos i've left them on several times!

    Buy a heat resistant mat. Available on ebay or Peter Mark might stock some.

    I always use it and if you do happen to leave them on, at least the mat wont go on fire!!

    The new ghd's are a great idea - they switch off after 30mins, but id recommend a heat mat aswell, saves your furniture and whatever else you lay your ghd's down on from scorching!!

    Apparently unplugging the thing is a reflex for me at this stage...but why the hell do we never remember doing it??

    Will either upgrade my prehistoric ghd (circa 2002!) for one of those new ones that switches itself off or invest in a mat...
