Hi,

I am looking to see if there are many people out there affected by the Fortuna scam. See here - http://overseascafe.blogspot.com/2008/12/fortuna-estates-raided-by-fraud-squad.html

I invested and I have been nicely stung. I was recently speaking with a Spanish solictor who and he estimates that there are about 300 Irish people affected. I would be interested in your thoughts and comments and your experiences todate.

There is a group that has been formed to look into the fallout of Fortuna Estates scam for investors (a couple of the members' contact details are on the end of the blog mentioned above).

I had an interesting discussion with one of the guys involved.

He said that they weren't looking for any more investors to get involved as they felt that it would 'decrease the amount of the pie' available to those looking to rescue something from this scam.

I felt this was terribly mercenary. It wasn't bad enough that investors got stiffed by Fortuna/Oanna/EM to begin with, now their fellow investors are also seeking to make sure that they never recover anything from the situation.

Very bizarre indeed.

The bottom line is, if you're involved in this, you need to be looking after yourself, because it appears nobody else is going to do it for you.
