I would advise putting on moisturiser before you eat your breakfast to let it sink in. Then use a foundation primer to give the foundationa good surface to cling to and also make your skin look smoother. You haven't stated what kind of coverage you want, but for full coverage which is long wear, I'd use Estee Lauder Double Wear. Set the foundation with a light powder to increase staying power. I believe it's not just about the foundation on its own, you need to prep your skin for it too.

    Hope that helps!

Hi, I was advised to use MAC mineralize foundation for my dry skin. its light coverage but you can layer it to achieve fuller coverage easily enough. I like it a lot anyway, nice shades and long lasting... but be sure to moisture skin beforehand, or it won't go on smooth at all!

saying that i always wash my face every moring with simple facial wash and moisture mabe twice with simple moistureiser before i apply my makeup (reason for this is because the simple moistureiser soaks in so quickly)

i prefer not to have to apply lots of layers just to achieve a fuller colour, so in this case i prefer to get a foundation that will go on once and thats it

    thanks

Setting your foundation with translucent powder will definetely increase its wear time.. also use the foundation primer.. if you are ok with spending money, then try clarins instant smooth perfecting touch primer.

I bought the new Maybelline foundation, Dream Satin Liquid last week. I have extremely dry skin and I find this lovely on it. I haven't had any problems with it wearing off as the day goes on, even without primer. I would definitely reccommend it!

I have dry skin, too, on my forehead and tip of my nose, but any foundation I try just clings to the dry flakes (which I can't seem to bloody well get rid of, no matter how much I moisturise, exfoliate, and scrub!)... is there any type of makeup that won't actually define the flakes, or even help get rid of them?
