there is not enough profit in a subway to justify two people splitting anything between them.

number 1 -you dont know what profits will be made in tipp

number 2 -plenty of subways are partnerships

number 3 -as you know ,this need not be or might not be a partners sole income provider but part of a bigger portfolio

i found your answer to the op to be of no use as you didnt justify your one line reply with any useful help or facts

He's probably sick of reading posts from inexperienced people trying to setup a business the easy way. I know I am.

BTW just do a search on some of the posts Hammertime has written about his experiences with Subway. You might not dis his opinion so quick having read same.

    excuse me?

How do you presume to have any idea as to what I know about Tipperary or Subway ?

and for the record very few Subways are partnerships (excepting husband and wife teams obviously). This is a preferance of Subway themselves, they lean heavily towards single owner operators.

Furthermore my "one line reply" was that long because thats all I feel is relevant, and I would also lean towards the conclusion that someone who is looking for a stranger as a 50% partner to invest in a relatively low cost venture is not doing it to add to their portfolio, they are doing it as their primary business (or granted it may be a business on the side of a full time - which would be a mistake also imho.)

Maybe you would care to help the op with the estimated profit that a subway in a good location in Tipp would be looking to acheive in the current climate ?

edit: Also if the op is that tight on financing that he is only able to raise the 50k himself then I would be advising against going forward with it as the average cost is closer to 140k by the time everything is sorted, not to mention the cashflow cushion needed to get over the first 3 months.

OP, apologies for being negative, pls feel free to pm me if you have any specific queries on Subway, I've go a long way down the road on them several times, they are a shady enough outfit with their profit projections.

    your excused !

i read this forum regularly and am aware of your business and knowledge -

my point is you offered no constructive advise to the op just an empty statement ,

the square in tallaght subway is a partnership and the one in kilkenny

your edited post is much more helpful to him -

I was under the impression that the Tallaght Subway was owned by the Fresh4U Group which is hardly a partnership in the way that the OP is suggesting. Paul & Micheal were both large extremely experienced operators in their own right and simply pooled resources to maximise their potential and reduce their overheads.

dont know them but the adverts they had in the media showed two lads and the story was bringing subway to tallaght ,didnt mention fresh ,suppose no need to really -

my point was that a partneship could work and it would do the op no harm if he researched the idea fully with the advice of your good selves on here ,and while he might see it not for him or financially viable ,it might set him on the right road
