    hows it going
i replaced an ignition barrell in a 98 tigra, with one i got in the breakers yard.
i had t do this because the key was broke in the old one.
so now i have a new key and ig barrell.
i took the original chip from the key and put it in the scrap yard key.
at first when i attempted to start the car the engine man light was lit up flashing.
now the light is on constant.

i have used the original chip reader, chip and ecu.
any ideas why the car wont start before i bring it to opel.
    cheers

Can't really speak for many but don't bump threads after only posting 2 hours previous!

try reset your ECU. You seem to know a lot about what you're doing so if this fails you'll have to go to a dealer to have the immobiliser re-coded. Sometimes the ECU sets off a fail safe to say there was a fault with the immobiliser.

    good luck op

i have tried disconnecting the the battery for a while but nothing has semmed to change.

also i need to know can the immobilizer be de activated permanently.
    cheers

if you have to program the key you can save money by gettin an op com code reader and use this guide:
