Kuga all the way for me...

I gotta say, I'm loving the Kuga too. Ford seem to be doing everything right at the moment.

Have you considered the Nissan Qashqai, one of the best selling cars in ireland at the moment.
Although the Kuga there looks to be very keenly priced!!

Don't like the Qashqai at all and far too common

The Qashqai would be alot smaller than the Kuga or Tiguan.

    Kuga for me..

    The Ford.

Kuga seems the nicer of the two. Haven't set in one, I have been in the Tiguan and I just don't like the lines/wheels, and the interior is typical VW. I think the Kuga is a very fresh, modern looking design.

The Kuga for me is a far more striking design. Only thing that worries me is the interior space (from what i have read) is bigger in the Tiguan.

    as for the Renault:eek:

Kuga for me. dont see the point of a 1.4L jeep

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 948 ✭✭✭DJ Hafez

Kuga. Been in the Tiguan and its just like a golf.Nothing special to drive either. The Kuga has better road presence if nothing else and i've heard good things about its handling and all that.

Kuga methinks! (Not in wine though!)

    Kuga, no contest for me.

    Kuga looks a lot nicer.

Anyone think it looks an AWFUL lot like the Mazda CX-7?

To be fair, it's not your average 1.4L. It does give out 150bhp as, I think, that's the model that has both the turbo and the supercharger.
So it won't be shy of pulling power, although it's not as torquey as the Ford, but it does beat the Ford to 60mph by a second.

Oh VW quality and reliability for the price of a piddling ford. It has to be the default choice because VW's are the bestest cars in the whole wide world:P

    Kuga all the way

another one here for the Kuga, but in seeing the Kuga on the road, it doesn't look all that big.

I'd rather spend the 27k on a Mondeo Estate

We had a Kuga 2.0Tdci 4x4 Titanium in at the start of the year. The interior is really tacky plastic - not what you'd expect in a €40k car!

Haven't been in a Tiguan, but the Kuga was a real let down.

Why not buy a car instead?

Having looked at both last year went and bought a demo Santa Fe. 2.2 dsl, all leather, air con, auto box. 7 seats if required or huge boot space if not.

Much more car for your euro. And it is nice to drive.

Just another option. Great deals to be had.

I would buy this and put 10K in the bank!

RAV4 is also worth a look.

Oh I forgot to say, you don't want a jeep, what you want is a nice estate.
satan drives an SUV you know!

    /boards ;)

I year old 520d estate anyone....

Father in law has a KUGA, we've got an S-Max, the KUGA is plasticy inside and very small, boot opwnt take golf bag for instance. Yet the 2.0tdci which has to run the 4wd system is detuned ...strange

Kuga looks great but is let down with the interior, fine on a Focus, but not what people in this price bracket expect. Not that the VW is any better.

The S-Max is based on the larger Mondeo/Galaxy platform, while the Kuga is a size smaller: it's made by taking the Focus platform and increasing the sticker price by 50%.

33K minimum on the Kuga, lets see, something new. I'd have a top spec Impreza diesel: 150 bhp, real 4WD, leather everything, and 2.5K change.

Cheers for the advice guys don't really want go for another car.

Why bother with either. Buy an estate or a big saloon and save yourself a few grand. On top of that you get something with a proper boot space and lower fuel/tyres consumption and it'll go around corners too at more than 80 kph. It's a no-brainer
