I have a 06 Mondeo TDCI 2l (90bhp) with 61k on the clock, I've noticed that if the car is started with the Air con on is seems to struggle to start, sometimes the car has to be turned off and re-started with the air-con turned off to get the engine running

Has anyone else come across this problem ???

You may just need a new battery.

Its not the battery Stevie, the engine seems to labour in a big way (when warm) if the air con is on.......its a zetec model

Does it sound like the engine is struggling to get air? Engine then sounds like there is a squelling chicken in there? I have a similar problem, mine is caused by the Turbo Acutator not opening. This is top centre nearist the windscreen. If you start the car with the bonnet open you should see an arm move, this is the actuator. This open to allow air into the turbo.
