A friend of mine works for Avon so I've gotten some freebies from her but have never found any of them to be any good...she's an Avon rep herself and said she'd never use the stuff.....does anyone here actually find any of their products any bit decent?

She'll get on well selling something she doesnt like or use herself

Personally i use the shampoos and conditioners, the body cream with olive oil is gorgeous and the skin so soft stuff is great too.
They also do room and linen sprays that are nice.

i use several of their items, the hair range incl the hair mask, dry end serum are fantasic brought my hair from a frizz ball to perfect straight without a straightners..

their shower gels, perfume etc are all great..
even the make up eg eye shadow eye liner
wouldn use the foundation as i has dry skin so it be a hit and miss with it and i wouldn put the money into just testing it..

so ya im totally all into avon

I've gotten a few bits from them. Their hair serums are good, as are some of the eye shadows. I love their matte mousse foundation and use it all the time, has a lovely texture. Find them good for things like hairbrushes and that.

I love Avon Products. I became a rep before christmas, when the rep in area moved to cork, so I could keep ordering my favourite products. I love their foundations - I have very fair skin and their colours really suit me. I also love the solutions am/pm cleanser and cream.
The shampoo and conditioners are also really popular - mainly because they are only about €1.50 each and they smell lovely.

I'm a rep the last 6 years! I can't believe your friend is a rep and doesnt use anything herself! How is she meant to be successful!?!

I think, with the economy the way it is, the likes of Avon are brilliant to try. You save yourself so much money! Take for example the YSL Touch Eclat. That's €35. Avon do their own Invisible Light Concealer for €8!! Their mineral foundations, mousse foundations and moisturising foundations all give Bare Minerals, MAC etc a run for their money! Their shower gels are really good and affordable and I wear a lot of their underwear. Bra's for €8!!! Better than Marks and Sparks! The good thing they offer is that you can order anything you want to see what its like and your not obliged to take it if you dont want it. You can even use it and if your not happy you can just return it to your rep and get your money back. I really recommend Avon if your feeling the pinch!!

And did you know that Jillian Dempsey is their Make Up Director. She's married to Dr. McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey!). She did Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway and Angelina Jolie's make up for the Oscars and she used Avon!! Patrick Dempsey is bringing out an aftershave for Avon called "Unscripted". Ive smelled it and it is divine! Will deffo be buying it for my man!!

I use their Alternative Moisturiser, that has a SPF 25, which is hard to find as most are SPF 15. I also use their AM PM eye cream, the AM eye cream also has an SPF 25 which is really unusual for an eye cream, and SPF is one of the most important thing's for keeping away the wrinkles. I would recommend them.

Tbh for any of the SPFs in cosmetics to actually do anything to protect your skin you'd want to be slathering them on big time!

Nah I've never liked anything I've gotten from Avon, although I've only tried their cosmetics, everything I bought was a waste of money imo.

JESUS!!! DITTO:eek: My next door neighbour had to get anti-histamines this morning as her face is the very same as your friend! She looks all puffy and swollen and is itching even under her eyelids and up her nose.
She used the orange bottle of AM/PM on sat/sun just gone and is appalled at state of her face!

God thats awful about that moisturiser..
I think their hair products are great.. i love the conditioning balm, i put it on my wet hair after washing it and it halves my drying time, i have EXTREMELY thick hair, so i love it. also heat protector spray is good too.
The shampoos are great, they smell lovely and the smell stays for ages!

No its not a moisturiser, its like a cleansing lotion i think? Ive not used it myself and i had the blue AM/PM ordered myself but i've cancelled it now!
Would you believe her rep told her he couldn't give her, her cash back? And that if he cancelled her present order it would take loads of paperwork and he would have to pay for them, if they came in the meantime!
Well i can tell ya he got an earful from me when i called him!

Oh i know that,it was just too much like work for him and my friend would not be the most worldly of people and took him at his word. But he changed his tune quick smart when i got hold of him. Seriously her face was frightening yesterday and Monday and its only because she got into her doc yesterday and he gave her Zirtek, she would still be swollen badly.
Im actually looking into contacting Avon myself, im not a regular buyer, but im appalled on her behalf and she's just too quiet to take it further.

As a fellow rep I am appalled at what that eejit of a rep said to her. Its written on the back of brochures that you have a guarantee (conveniently called the "Avon Guarantee!") that if you are not happy with anything at all even if its been opened and used you can send it back with no questions asked. Yes, for the rep there is paperwork but not a whole lot. The rep will have to pay for it no matter what but if it is sent back, he/she just gets credited on their next invoice. That rep sounds like a tad of a cowboy tbh!

As for the creams, I feel that any face cream, body cream moisturiser etc is trial and error on your skin (in my opinion anyway). What might be alright on your skin by way of one product might not work on someone else or vice versa. It was unfortunate that these people had such reactions on their skin but at least they now know that they cant use these products, or the ingredients. Don't judge the whole of the Avon catalogue by the one bad experience you had with something as touch and go as face creams. There are so many other brilliant and cost effective alternatives to your designer brands in the catalogue.

I agree that products sometimes do not suit everyones skin but i have used so many different products, i change moisturiser and face products regularly and i have never had a reaction like this!it is no way a normal reaction for your face to break out in a rash and bumps for over a week, even my lips were red raw and sore!!my face is still peeling now and i used it nearly two weeks ago. If it was jst me fair enough i was allergic to it but i have spoken to numerous people about it and not one person has continued to use the am/pm products and some of them had the same reaction.....even my rep has stopped using it cos it made her skin dry and patchy and red in places so it definatley wasnt jst a case of the product not suiting me it is obviously very severe!!! so warn your friends guys!!!:(

also i logged a complaint on the avon website.......heard nothing back yet so not very impressed with them!!

I would call them personally if you feel so strongly about it. I'm not sure that the website is monitored on a daily basis (although I could be wrong).
The number is 01-8706540! Hope this helps...!
