Would be a nice way of containing all the scumbags of dit in to one manageable society. So long as the meetings don't take place in any of the nice campuses, you've got my support.

meh i am a shels fan so no thanks , but i wont begruge another eircom league fan trying to get people to go to games. i sure you would get a few people interested to join even if most people in Ireland and dit would only be use to watching football on the TV . Oh and yea rovers took their time but it is a nice stadium you got going.

tis aye, thanks. Being honest I miss Rovers v. Shels. Best of luck this season

Without this becoming a soccee thread though I think things could be done by the Eircom League to encourage 3rd level students to go to games. I got my season ticket in tallaght for 120 because of my student ID :)

    The DIT SRFC Ultras SOC.

Not a rovers fan per se, more a LOI fan.

Out of interest, what would your plans for the SC be?

Once the Second stand goes up in the summer the capacity of Tallaght Stadium will be nearly 7000 (there's a temp stand going up soon)

That'll mean that much more people would be open to going to games, would be nice to do a few of the away trips like Galway and Cork, stay in hostels and paint the town green and white =]

I'm sure we could have things like guest speakers in, perhaps even be entitled to group discounts for the Irish internationals.

I'm open to suggestions of course, would people opt for a LOI Society?

I doubt that one big LOI SOC would work mainly because of the rivalries yourselves and the Gypos have added with the Junkies and the Minnows little rivalry.

Great if you could pull it off. Id say It mightn't come to fruition until next September (Semester 1 next year) due to fact of Tallaght ticket allocation been so tight at the moment.

What rivalries , i would just turn up and remind everybody that shelbourne are still the best team in Ireland, have won the league a bucket load of times , actually got though some rounds in europe, and mostly importantly with the way things are going , Shels actually paid all their players last season . Unlike certain teams (begining with Dr and C)

I'm a rovers fan, but I'd say it would be difficult to get a fanclub of just dit people. Maybe a general LOI fan club?

Shels are part time now, have a smarter way of doing buisness and dont have pat the rat to make them go bust, Bohs have the honour of that now. In regards to the best team in Ireland, IMO that would be Bohs or Derry at the moment. I reckon UCD and Sporting Franchise will get promoted this year ahead of Shelbourne.

I'd be up for a LOI fan club (i'm a Seagull myself ;)) but I don't have a clue how it'd work. Maybe organise a group of fans to go toa random game every now and again. Just an idea.

Well chances are I'd be going to the Rovers games week in week out anyway but we could just encourage people to go see their local team, organize astro games etc

    (i'm a Seagull myself ;))
