Presumably that's the HD box. Whether it'll be out in June is another matter.

If UPC are bringing out a HD dvr in the summer, will they then drop the 5 Euro charge for the normal dvr like Sky did when Sky plus hdtv was launched?

They certainly have the technology to do it if they want to. They will just use the same box that they use in the Netherlands, which is what they already to for any of the UPC-branded gear i.e. the DVR etc.

I would suspect it's just a matter of getting access to the content they'd need to sell it. It shouldn't be that difficult as they've got a good relationship with Discovery Networks and with Virgin Media, even BBC and ITV etc might be quite feasible.

However, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Sky might refuse to allow their HD channels to be carried.

Their networks are improving dramatically as they're upgraded, so they should have the bandwidth for HD in most of the areas that currently support broadband.

Cork might be a good trial location as it's got the analogue space cleared now.
