Warwick or O'Gara?

Based on form I would have Paul Warwick as the number 10 for Munster going forward. His place kicking is excellent, his out of hand kicking is excellent. His defense is excellent and he can make a break. Add all these up and I'd rank him in front of O'Gara. I know he could be a good option at full back but Hurley is beginning to get back to his old form again.

I'd still have O'Gara (10) and Warwick (15). Hurley makes the bench for me only if Earls isn't starting at 13. Sorry, don't have faith in him under the high ball and I think he offers less than the other options at 15.

While Warwick can play 10 or 15, O'Gara can only play 10. But both are dangerous and effective in their own ways. Yes, I want to have my cake and eat it too!

maybe in the magners league but not in the heineken cup. O gara has proved himself time and time again when it comes down to it. Warwick's decision making would make me question him for the Heineken cup

Denis Hurley had one great game against Gloucester last season and that was it, he hasnt done much since that one game.

Warwick is brilliant when things are going well but when things aren't going well he doesn't seem to be able to stamp his influence on the game and pull us through, an example being the loss against Connacht this season. O' Gara has to be out half, big game against his nemesis Contepomi at TP for the title, he wont disappoint im sure.

As a leinster fan I would be delighted to see only one of O Gara and Warwick on the pitch. Why on earth you wouldn't want both of them is a mystery.

I'd agree with that. In time Warwick might learn the control O'Gara has, but at the minute, O'Gara has to start.

I would like to see both, but Warwick at full back not out half.

I assume we'll have Dowling, Warwick and Howlett as our back three next weekend and for the quarter final.

Ya id hope to see Dowling in there from the start, it will be for him to get some game time ahead of the Ospreys game.

    Prediction time=
Warwick will play full back for the rest of the year and same next year when he will also play at outhalf for the games where O Gara is not available.
However the year after (Sept 2010) Warwick will be first choice for the no. 10shirt with O Gara on the bench. ROG will be going on 34 at that stage and Warwick will be 29 or so, coming into his prime.
I would expect that a picture like this may have been painted to Warwick in contract talks - that he will be Munster full back and eventually O Gara's replacement.

That's exactly as I see it too. Although we might see warwick playing a bit of Heineken cup at 10 next year.

Lets hope not as i hope by that time they will have found good irish potential for the 10 shirt, hopefully for both Munster and Leinster

If there was someone in Munster who'd have a shot at the 10 jersey in the next year or 2 we'd know about him already.

As a Leinster fan I would be quite happy to see Warrick picked ahead of O'Gara when playing us in either the Magners or HC. Warrick has a lot of promise that's for sure but O'Gara has the big match temprement and as critical as I am of his performances in green he still dictates games week in week out in the red of Munster! Warrick played well last week but you have to take into account had bad the opposition was where as O'Gara has done it time and again for Munster against the best in Europe!

I'd probably have Warwick at 15, O'Gara at 10, Hurley on the bench and drop Manning.
I think O'Gara has not been his best so far but his performances have improved with each game, so I would stick with him for the Leinster match and the upcoming HC match. But it's a nice place to be in for McGahan to have two superb out-halves to pick from.

While Tipoki is out Rog at 10 and Warwick at 15 is the way to go - but if Tipoki is back there'd be some tough calls - Mafi and Tipoki in the middle, Earls slotting back to 15 and based on current form Warwick at 10.

Elsom and Heaslip are going make life very painful for Rog on Saturday.
