I think not, and the reason they gave in the past was the WEEE, and specifically they'd have to take back your old electronics.

And when you go to select a delivery address and input an Irish one what do you get? Unless something has changed in the last few days you get an error message that items cannot be delivered

Edit.....and something has changed, great stuff! http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=2055529256

It's pretty much hit and miss i must admit. I tried buying memory sticks and no go and I was able to buy a media center from them. Although they do have the new and used section with other sellers which can be very good

    Yes, you can.

    Here's the example:
    Amazon Kindle 2

    Hope it helps.

you CAN buy electronics from amazon.co.uk edited see this link http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=524836&qid=1239562963&sr=1-3

    in relation to the kindle...

    Important Message
There is a slight problem with your order. (See below.)

    Type/Item/Price Qty. Send to:
Kindle 2: Amazon's New Wireless Reading Device (Latest Generation)
    $359.00 - In Stock
    Condition: New
Sold by: Amazon Digital Services, Inc.

*** We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order by changing its quantity to 0 and clicking the update button below. ( See geographical restrictions.) ***

I am very interested in buying the kindle 2 from amazon however due to their shipping restrictions it is not available to european customers. AFAIK this applies to ALL electronic devices available from Amazon.

To the best of my knowledge there are two ways around this, (for someone interested in buying a kindle)

    1. Use a PO box address, there is (what appears to be) a respectable remailer, I think their one off charge will be approximately 30 euros. Bear in mind that you will end up only paying for shipping once as Amazon ship free to the US

    http://www.bongous.com/

I havent used this service before and would be keen to hear from anyone who has.

    2. I found this other website

    http://www.ipmart.com/main/product/Kindle,2,Amazon,s,New,Wireless,Reading,Device,Latest,Generation,,95939.php?prod=95939&ref=adwords_ous_kindle&gclid=CLa37bWl8JkCFYE_3godGg_cQg

Now, as to their Bona Fides its anyones guess. Again, I've done the usual " ipmart.com scam" google search and havent found anything untoward but whether I'm confident enough to send 300 odd to them is another issue.

but back to the original question, Amazon most definitively do NOT ship kindles to Ireland.

on another note anyone whos had any success getting a kindle could you PM me and let me know how you got it and what you think of it

    Regards,

Dragging this thread up because I've been unable to order any of the electronic goods that I've chosen. I mailed customer service recently to see why and they got back to me saying that they're aware that delivery restrictions are incorrectly assigned to some electronic items and the developers are currently working on removing these which they expect to be complete by the end of this month.

Was just about to find this thread too.
I'm trying to buy this Sony X-Series Walkman and it won't let me ship it to Ireland even though its sold by Amazon.co.uk and not a 3rd party seller.
Its a pain in the ass, and from above poster, Jip, there seems to be no way of resolving it.
