Ideas for birthday outfit!

So its my birthday next Sat and I have NO clue what to get to wear.

I want to get a pretty dress but I'm a size 18 with a bit of a tummy on me (thanks to 2 babies!) and I would really love to look like a knockout! I'm sick of tracksuit bottoms, jeans and t-shirts and just for one night would like to look amazing!

If anyone has any ideas or whatnot please tell me cos I'm desperate!!

Have you been in to Evans? Some nice empire dresses in there for plus sizes. The larger New Look stores have the Inspire range which is for larger ladies and their stuff is gorgeous.

Well New Look is where I shop mainly, when I have the money that is! I didnt see much the last time I was there. I just went on their website and there was a really nice dress but I dont think it is dressy enough!

That dress is nice, with fancy shoes and accesories you could jazz it up? I was in New Look in Newbridge yesterday and they had loads of gorgeous dresses but was in the one in Northside SC recently and they had nothing so it really differs with the different stores.

There's some gorgeous dresses in a lot of the shops in Ilac Centre but I don't know if they'd go up to a size 18 unfortunately. I'd say just take a day of shopping around for yourself in town if you can. Boutiques do plus sizes but with that you have the extra cost.

is it this sat or next? if its next have a look on www.asos.com, they have some nice dresses that go up to 18 & you can search by size.

im not as big a fan of asos as i used to be though, sometimes the colour/material arent as nice when you get the clothes as they looked online, however you can always return it if it doesnt suit. They have a clearance section too so you dont need to spend loads

is available in 18. i love this dress, though i dont think personally id ever be brave enough for it!

also i noticed on the awear website recently that some of their clothes are now going up to 18 - eg. http://www.awear.com/Dresses/Strappy-Bird-Print-Cami/invt/10400788 . havent noticed in the shops but might be worth a look or asking a sales assistant if youre in there

Those dresses are fab!! Its this sat, the 4th so I wont have time to online order. I didnt know A-Wear went to an 18!! I'm gonna take a trip over to my local one and try that dress on!! Thank you so much! Just hope its nice on!!:D

i think its only recently they have, i noticed it on their website awhile ago. i havent noticed any stock in the stores though (but i generally just rumage for my size & ignore all else!). make sure you ask if they dont have the size there, could always get them to ring another branch

Im also a size 18 and have gotten a couple of nice dresses in A-wear lately where the size 16 has fit me - so worth trying them on just to see, especially the looser floaty ones

Depending on how much you want to spend you can usually get nice dresses up to size 18 in

I'm not all that flush so I think I will try A-Wear. I'm kinda like a size 17 so I always go for the 18! If the 16's in A-Wear are that good, I'll deffo take a trip in. Will keep the other stores in mind though!

yeah thats true, awear sizes are on the big side, a 16 in a loose dress would probably fit i want to go shopping now..

definetley agree with awear,a lot of their stuff is big so worth a try.
also river island do up to 18 in a lot of their clothes.
red herring in debenhams have some nice stuff too and good sizes.
and dont forget about dorothy perkins,they have some gorgeous stuff.got a dress there a few weeks ago for going out,Im a 14/16,like yourself with a bit of a tummy from having a baby!I always find their sizes very good.

This is the dress I got but they also have it in black,they way the dress fits it hides any bit of a stomach!looks like crap in the pic but its fab on!
