    Hi there,
I would defo go for jeans. If you have a nice pair of boots to wear over them that would be a big help. Long sleeve jersey tops can be used with nearly every type of top to get a day look. Pair a long sleeve top with a tshirt and nice scarf for a cute look. A variety of scarves can help plain oufits to be warm and stylish. Also layer tights with skirts or shorts. There are so many different coloured tights to choose from so you can mix and match outfits.

One thing I always notice when I'm in San Francisco is that the women there appear a lot more "natural." They wear less makeup than they do here, and wear clothes which are more muted colors and less flashy. FWIW I have a friend from there. When she visits me she says the Dublin women's clothes are "gaudy" (her words.) Food for thought if you want to blend in a little.

Layers are a must. It always amazes me how the temperatures can change drastically from hour to hour and even in different parts of the city. No reason layers can't be fashionable... as the other poster said you can't go wrong with nice jeans, cardis, scarfs, boots etc
