I'd only have it if I were sure I'd keep it for a long time, I wouldn't need it for big mileage, they were pedantic about servicing it and I have sufficient cash flow generally to fix things without breaking the bank...

I'd prefer then to get it for a price beginning with 5

The mileage is never too high as long as the car has been looked after.

as said above. There isn't any reason why it wouldn't last if all of the above is true. A guy at work drives glin to cork everyday in one. Swaps every two years at 120k km and doesn't have a problem with his or the previous mods. However, i can see you getting a lower mileage one for not much more with some haggling

It would have had its dpf changed at around 100k additive tank topped up and more than lightly having it's dmf replaced around the same time...;)
These are the most expensive parts to be replaced on the 407...:(
I would be looking for a 1 year warranty if i struck a deal...:)

I've got a 04 407 1.6 hdi which has 73 k with all of the above to be
    replaced yet.....

This is one of the best peugeot websites out there....;)

at least you know its kosher, instead of buying a clocked one, if it has been looked after id see no issue

On paper it looks fantastic value but the same money buys this http://cars.motornet.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=1362562 and I think Id rather save 100,000 miles than 1 year on the reg plate. Thoses 407's get leggy with big clocks. Not much more buys this http://cars.motornet.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=1029794
