I am an Eileen O'Keefe fan living across the Atlantic.
Any info on how her training is going thus far this season?
Has she had any competition throws in 2009?
Has she found a more suitable training facility having resolved the difficulties she experienced while preping for the 2008 Olympics?
    Thanks

From what I have heard she isn't training at the moment which brings into question whether she will compete this year.

Somebody else may have more details but thats what I heard:(

    Injured?
    Retired ?
    Fed Up?

She got a training grant... doesn't that mean she would be training?

Note sure what the exact story is, thats an interesting point of the grant though. It has happened that athletes get grant and they aren't even training. Maybe the grant will help her overcome her injuries?

Just out of interest, why do you suggest retired and fed up? I can't imagine one year of bad luck would leave her fed up, especially after finishing 6th at the World Championships and winning World University silver the year before.

The reasons quoted were just standard reasons given for any athlete quitting/not training.

Nothing to do with Eileen personally - I have no knowledge of her situation, but like the original poster, I am interested in how all our athletes are progressing.
