Energy gels in Cork

    Hi all,

I'm headed over to the Paris marathon next weekend. Realised I'm out of gels. Anyone know where in Cork I can pick up some? Anywhere that would be open in the evening time a bonus! I'm around the douglas area if there is anywhere around there that people know of.
I've used high 5 gels and also the lucozade ones(from boots) and would prefer to use ones I've tried and tested.

    Thanks in advance,

Don't know anywhere in Douglas but you could try

The Edge Sports on North Main St http://www.theedge-sports.com/
John Buckley near Opera House http://www.johnbuckleysports.com/

If you order off Chain Reactions it should get to you within 3 days easily -failing that I could give you a box of high 5 (I think I used 2/3 of them out of twenty ish) for the same price (less the 2/3 of course)

    Hi,

John Buckley will post them out to you. Not sure if he does hi 5 tho. I use Powerbar.

    Thanks guys,

I see the-edge place stays open until 6 which could work-do they have parking fairly close by if I swing by just before then do people know?

Funky-if you are looking to get rid of those gels I will take them, otherwise I'm sure I will be able to get hold of them.

I got some great advice from the guys in the Edge Sports shop. They have both the Powerbar gels as well as the Hi5 Isotonic gels and some other brands too I think.

I'd recommend parking in the car park above Dunnes on North Main St or else on the Coal Quay, it's only a few mins walk from there.

    Thanks folks,

I just had a thought in fact. I presume I could pick these up at the expo either? I'm assuming it will be similar to DM where there would be a number of retailers around. Can anyone confirm?

    Hi folks,

Picked these up today in the edge place, looked like a very good triathlon shop but couldn't stay to have a look around as I was double parked.

Looks like I'm all set now just popping out for 3 miles...is it weird that I'm enjoying this taper and haven't been hit with the madness!?!
