I think the style of the first dress only suits people who are relatively tall, like over 5'6'' or so I'd say. The second looks like it's more fitted around the chest area which is good if ya've got big boobs, more support and what not. Both nice dresses though!

I love them both, very classy, however, I would steer clear of the 1st one tbh, I believe it's frowned upon to wear white to a wedding :o

OP said she'd be getting it in black, but yeah, I agree with you! Very Classy!

OP I think they are both lovely and very classy as mentioned but from what you have descibed your shape as I would stick with the second one imo, I think it would be far more flattering on you.
Also the fuscia colour sounds lovely and personally I think would be better suited to a wedding then the black dress.

TBH I'm not mad about either. Long drapy dresses really only work on taller people and if you have large breasts/hips, those dresses won't do anything for your figure. They'll just be a bit tent-like. There's something about weddings that makes people run to those type of dresses, even though they don't suit most people.

In my opinion, the purple one is thenicest of the two dresses. The colour is gorgeous.

I know you said you had big boobs, so I would be wary of anything with a crossover or cup style top. I have large breasts, and those two dresses just would not suit me.

With large breasts and hips, I'd recommend something more like a prom dress which would have a structured top to give you shape yet flares out into a nice skirt.

Here are some suggestions - I know I've used the dreaded Coast for examples, but hopefully you'll get what I'm driving at.

    Example 1

    Example 2

    I like them both.

I disagree with you Dudara as they look like they have an empire line with a high waist, this is good for hour glass shapes, obviously if something is got in a size or two too big then it will look like a tent.

OP what ever dress you get can be adusted if there is a problem.

She's talking about examples of styles not the actual dresses.

O/T though what the hell is it with all these horrid flower prints?

Thanks to everyone who posted, think I'll go with the majority and opt for the second dress in the fuschia colour as I have dark hair and think it will suit that too I hope.

I've tried on countless dresses in debenhams, oasis, warehouse, principles and went to the outlet in banbridge and newry as I'm on strict budget and I just didnt like any of the dresses on me. I really dont like the shape of the dresses in debut in debenhams that are bandeau style but then kick out in a 50's style. I feel huge in them even though some of the patterns are lovely.

I'd prefer the bubble dress of the two dudara but they aren't really my stlye at all! The type of dress I like are the ones that I could look back of a photo of myself wearing it in 10 years time and not look dated.Hate lookin back at my debs photos for that reason! Think am going to have to get myself a sewing machine!

Thanks a mill, any advice on shoe colour or what to wear on shoulders would be great! Thinking silver sandals or else clash it with rich purple?

I wish I knew. Weddings seem to bring out all the horrible flower prints.

    I agree with Dudara.

Prom style dress or something that is fitted will suit you better. I wouldn't suggest a bandeau style dress though unless you wanna be pulling it up all night.

As someone with big hips let me tell you that neither of the two dresses you posted will flatter your figure very well. What you want is something that's fitted on the waist but skims over your hips.
