    Hi all,
Hope this is in the right place,
I was made redundent form my position as a kitchen showroom manager in Nov 08, and the shop closed it's doors. I was given no notice and had worked for them nearly 23 months I always thought the timing of this was suspicious being so close to the two years required for a redundancy payment.
This weekend (28/03/09) the owner of the company re-opened to sell off everything that remained in the showroom, he had obviously paid the rent all along, when i called in to see him he informed me he's thinking of ropening the showroom permantely a couple of days a week.

My question is can he do this?
Or am I just holding a grudge as I have not been able to find work since and have had the usual trouble with bills, mortgage etc and am still fcukin annoyed

Sounds more like a reconstruction then anything else to me and the fact you was made redundant don't some how mean he can't open up again.

Try to seek advise from DETE redundancy officer (or inspector).

There's nothing to stop him reopening so long as he doesn't hire someone for your old job for at least 6 (?) months after you finished
