i think he was offered more money with the bbc and thats why he jumped. soccer am is not the same without him. he wrote and produced most of soccer am along with a few of the lads that also used to be on screen with him on soccer am . i miss them all

    Damn Flanders....

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Something for the Weekend is a standard magazine programme and it exposes him to the millions who have the BBC. Soccer AM is very limited and beyond Helen Chamberlain and the odd interesting guest is pretty awful stuff.

soccer am is what it is... a tv show for the teen/20somethings all about football, comedy and celeb guests. i love it for what it is

No argument there at all and Lovejoy knew that. The BBC offer came at a good time and makes sense, even if it's a Sunday morning magazine show.

Some of the stuff that passes for comedy on that show is horrid tbf. I think Lovejoy is a moderately talented presenter and that something for the weekend is about his fit.

I much preferred him when he was getting involved in antiques-related capers.

Like the time him and Kasabian had to convince an elderly Duke that a painting he had was a forgery, in order to sell him back an actual forgery of said painting, do the crossbar challenge on his palatial lawn and play to a crowd of braying morons in polyester replica Swansea City kits.

Next week: The Antiques Roadshow guest presented by Chris Moyles.

Actually like Something for The Weekend, Tim also works on BBC Five Live and does Wednesday nights football phone in show.

Tim Lovejoy saw Soccer AM was stale and jumped ship along with what seems like half the crew. Soccer AM now is absolute ****. Something For The Weekend isn't all that bad imo.

I used to watch Soccer AM but now I couldn't be bothered to watch a minute of it anymore. I think it has had its day.

I like something for the weekend, easy watching on a Sunday morning. Soccer AM could do with a re-vamp.

Tim Lovejoy is fairly ok in a vanilla, blokey way. He has as much edge as a balloon.
Soccer AM was at the end of it's tether, he was getting a foot in to Sky Sports Carling Cup coverage but the Beeb obviously decided to make him an offer he couldn't refuse. I don't think they know what to do with him unless he actually wanted to move to light entertainment.
Something for the Weekend is my kind of new auld lad show.

Didn't he end up doing Deadwood?
