depending on how hand you are the best thing would be to get a new drive mechanism from console repairs and install it yourself. There are a number of good videos out there with how to replace the bluray drive. This is most likely the reason that the system wont read games. If when you put a disk in it just has the accesing indicator in the top RHS of the screen the bluray drive is most likely the cause. But for ease and piece of mind then console repairs is probably a better bet. Hope it helps.

It's not cos it's second hand that they charge. It's totally up to them whether they want to repair it for free or €250. The 250 price is for out of warranty. But i'd say this if you're getting it for free €90 is not that bad a price for a PS3. It could last for a few months or a couple of years. Depends on whether you get another dodgy mechanism or not. GIve them a bell defo worth a punt.

Yes, you need from proof of purchase.
Either the purchase receipt or debit/credit card transaction record.

    No, think about this logically.

Where is the proof that you bought this PS3 from the shop in question?

You have no till receipt or debit/credit card data to prove you actually purchased a PS3.

So,your mate who only has his PS3 a few months and it goes on the blink decides to give it you.
He doesnt go back to the shop or contact Sony??

No offence, but hes either an idiot and/or the PS3 is robbed
