    hi,

okay, this series was pretty poor from the start, but I hung in there because I love the swashbuckler genre. and Marion was hot.
I blame the writers for most of it. so-so stories with terrible scripts and using modern language.
then was the constant need parallel the Crusades with current conflicts in the Middle East. a decent idea, but greatly over used.
they also went overboard on the whole notion 'people are all the same, irrelevant of race or creed' and Muslim people are not evil.
of course they are not evil. but they were so afraid of offending people that nearly all references to Christianity were absent. Including Tuck.
but it seems they got over it. Because Tuck joined the Merry Men tonight for season 3. and he was very good. in fact the whole show has made a vast improvement. not awesome, but a lot better. Tuck's arrival has brought a change.
he is a devout man of God. intelligent. and well able to take names when the need arises.
but he is also the personification of one of the main problems with the series. does anyone else see what I mean?

Glad to see the show back, but wasn't too impressed with tonight's episode.
Currently it's an all male cast - we need some new females to replace Marian and Djaq and although Tuck seems to be a decent character so far, he's definitly no Will.
Thankfully from next weeks sneak peek, looks like there might be some newbies introduced and the show can return to form.

more women, yes. this Kate in preview looks hot, but were the accents a bit
    "Far And Away-ish"

as to Djaq and Will - no loss. those had less personality than planks of wood.
Their Tuck is the best character by far.

I can't actually see any reason for killing Marion.

but back to my point on its racial equality gone mad. gone so mad its actually a bit racist.
does it make any sense that Tuck is black? now it didn't bother me at all at first, because the actor made him interesting right from the start. I assumed his origins would be explained later, nothing wrong with Tuck differing to the legend, especially when he is well written so I thought fair play.
but he is a black Englishman. in the time of the Crusades, back home after many years. I'm all for racial diversity, but how about bit of historical accuracy.
I think it would have been better to make this actor a saracen/moor character and give us the traditional food loving Tuck, but make them both similar in personality and create a rivalry because of the religions.
still he is the best character by far, and he has given the series hope.
