Spent Today Driving Supercars!

I don't pass by the motors forum much these days, but I spent today driving a Ferrari 575, Lamborghini Murcielago and Gallardo.
I pretty much never want to drive anything else ever again. I kicked my 97 7-series when I got home for being so ****.
The Lambos were far superior to the Ferrari imo, so powerful and grippy. The Ferrari frightened the **** out of me when braking from 150mph to 40!

I know there's not much point to this thread but I definitely recommend that if you have a few quid spare and want an awesome day out, go for it. I was shaking for about 2 hours after it!

It was at Prestwold Hall in England near East Midlands Airport. It was a present booked through topgifts.ie so I'm not sure how much it cost. It did seem expensive-ish to drive on the day there, but I think if you book a package on topgifts it works out cheaper. The packages they offer seem to have changed since then. I got return flights to East Midlands for 20 all in the Ryanair.

Just about 6' 5". I couldn't fit in with the helmet on so they just let me away without it!

    Class day out!

Don't know how you managed it! I'm just over 6'2" and i drove a ferarri355, just about, was as tight as nuns knickers getting in there!
At your height it must have been uncomfortable? Or maybe the newer supercars are bigger?

Either way you are ruined for driving normal cars now, you may get a fast bike instead!:D

Wow, looking at those photos.. Even on looks alone, the lambo blows the Ferrari right out of the water - far more appealing of a car IMO..
    Nice one. :D

Much cheaper to buy from the UK, Topgifts wanted 500 but the same day is 345 sterling here

Ah, I guess there are some disadvantages to being tall ;)

BTW, I read an advert in Argos not so long ago about driving supercars, does anybody know anything about it?

I got a Christmas present of this but I put it off after my little incident as my bottle for speed got a little dented but after seeing the pics...! Do they drive the sh1te out of the car when you're in the passenger seat first? That would put me off slightly, don't mind me doing it but I hate being a passenger nowadays at any type of fast speed.

Did you go over and back in the same day or is there anything to do nearby that you would overnight it?

How many hours were you there for? What day did you go? Trying to figure out if weekday would be better so the track would be quieter.

hehe...thats a lot of questions but here goes:

The warmup laps were in an Impreza WRX and they weren't gunning it at all, just taking you around the track explaining all of the corners in detail. Every corner has a brake board and a turn board, and a cone at the apex and exit point.
You don't actually get a lap in the supercars driven by the instructor, you do it all yourself. They're really good and they tell you exactly when do everything from braking to gear shifts and they do the mirrors aswell, so you dont have to worry about traffic at all. It was kind of annoying on my last couple of laps running up the back of a slower Audi R8 (lol what a cool thing to be able to say) but in general the traffic is not a big deal and I wasn't at all worried about it. All of my concentration on the track was trying to get the car around it as tight as possible. I failed pretty bad at this and only really started to realise that the cars take everything you throw at them and 10 times more towards the end of my laps (though the Ferrari defo had a sting in the tail if you made a mistake).
I would like to have been a passenger with one of the instructors, just to see how **** I was.

In terms of arrangements I was booked in for 3:45pm. We left on the 8am Ryanair flight to East Midlands as the next one wasn't til 3 or something. I rented a car at the airport and drove to the place (20 mins) just to check it out. We then went off to Leicester (30 mins) and had some lunch and a walk around and got back there around 2:45. I asked if I could start a bit early due to the flight leaving at 7:30pm and not wanting to cut it tight. I got going about 3 and it was all done by about 5:15 in plenty of time to fly back.
