    Hello,

I'm getting a bike for my girlfriend for her birthday, was looking at the Specialized Globe San Francisco 2 in Cycleways, it's a nice simple bike with a 3 Speed Nexus Hub, costs €500:

Then I found this, which is essentially the same bike (last years model) for under £300:

My question is this, would it be possible to mount a front rack to this, she has one on her current bike but it does not look like it would fit due to the shape of the frame on the Centrum.

Just wanted to check if this was a possibility before ordering the bike as it's a requirement for her to have a rack/basket.

Had a look on CRC but didn't see anything that looked like it would do the trick.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Well it looks like it can be done:

Just need to find where to get one of these.

CRC do ones that you can clip on/off the handlebars, has anyone any experience of these, I'm guessing they could not hold as much.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Whatever about fitting a basket I don't see any mudguard eyelets on that frame. I'd consider full-length mudguards essential on a city-bike. The disc brakes may also make fitting them difficult.

There are lots of basket options here:

The above site also has some front racks which attach to the fork bosses.

Personally I would be fine putting clip on mudgaurds onto that bike, I have a rear mudgaurd that just screws onto the seatpost but with that frame you could put it lower. A front mudgaurd is not essential but one that clips onto the downtube would be fine IMHO.
