    hello -
i have had a pair of taho for 3 years. they're really good and comfy to walk with.
i bought a pair of nike spds on ebay recently, Nike, that are even better :) (discontinued so ) ... i bought 2 pairs :) i wear everyday to ( and in ) work.
the new mavic range looks pretty good

I have used the Sonoma for quite a while, indeed have gone through two generations of them at this stage and still use them for commuting. They are quite OK to walk in but the Tahoe might be better, I've never used it but it looks a bit more walky maybe.

For touring in summer though your only man is a Specialized SPD sandal, significantly easier to walk in too...

I use the Taho day in, day out, and find 'em very comfortable. Only downside is that the cleat is very close to the sole, so sometimes you can 'clack' a little as you walk, but it's not really a problem

I used to wear the somoma ones, but only on the bike. You can walk in them but you'll have the choice of looking like a duck or sounding like Michael Flatley. clippety cloppety clippety clop...

blorg, where did you get these? I haven't come across Specialized sandals before. I have a pair of the Shimano sandals, but they don't agree with my big toe for some reason.

Whoops, sorry, I meant Shimano sandals, not Specialized. How does it not agree with your big toe, that is surely out the front of the sandal?

I have SD60 and SD65 sandals, the latter grip the foot better I find.

It's the base of my big toe that's the problem, it mite be that the size i'm using is too big and that the contour of the footbed is not aligned with my foot (it's the SD60). I did a two-week tour last year & both big toes were numb for about 2-3 months afterwards. I did try a smaller version of the same sandal but felt my toes were too close to the front edge for comfort. Mite try the SD65 & see how they go. Thanks.
