What's the "Octrine system"?

Mother is having a scan of what she terms the "octrine" system. Next week. This is in relation to investigating the source of her cancer (lymph nodes, including neck). I have googled "auctrine" and "octrine" and numerous other similar permutations of the word, but can't, for the life of me, figure what the "octrine" system is.

She doesn't know either, and even her nurse didn't seem to know.

Can anyone shed any light on what the intended scan might be? She had a bone scan yesterday, so it might be a follow-up to that.

could it be an octreotide scan?

Google that and see if it rings a bell. Sorry your mum is ill, btw :(

    You might also try OCTREOSCAN.

A relative of mine had that a few years ago. It was done by the nuclear medicine department of the hospital he was in and I think that it was to check for cancer.

Best of luck to your mother.
