Ok , so in my family home we have an existing sky mini-dish and a pace box digital reciever. The sky subscription has not been paid in about 5 years so we essentially have just a freeview set up. However this is only in one room, now my father is considering buying a freesat box. My question is this, can I set up a freesat box as a second box coming off the same satalite? Or do I need a dual lnb satalite?
If it is possible with my existing equiptment can someone point me in the direction of a faq?

Any constructive help would be apriciated.

I assume your current setup is a single cable from the (single output) LNB mounted on your satellite dish to the Sky box. Is the dish an oval mesh type Sky minidish or a standard round dish?

If this is your current setup you will need to fit a Quad (i.e. 4 independant outputs) or Octo (i.e. 8 independant outputs) LNB to your dish. Dual (correctly called Twin-output LNB's) were never available for the Sky (oval mesh) minidish.

If you fit the Quad LNB you will also need to run an extra satellite cable from the LNB to the new freesat receiver or two cables if your father wishes to install a freesat pvr.
