I've had two wonderful ideas for my thesis for next year and both of my ideas have been knocked back, when I mentioned them. How do you keep things simple?:o

I'm very interested in addiction and I'm also interested in OCD. Anway, I suppose I have afew months to try and sort it out. However, I want to do it on something that I am interested in.

Why were they knocked back? And are you doiing an undergrad or post grad thesis? Masters or PhD?

    What about OCD interests you?
    Have you looked at ocdireland.org?

I'm doing my thesis at the moment, im doing it on mental health issues... obviously its not as broad as that but it was knocked back the first time i put in the title. it could be that your ideas are indeed too broad.. which would make it nearly impossible to research, or that your methods are unethical something that can be very common with topics to do with mental health issues. Or perhaps your wording could of been wrong, its hard to say not knowing exaclty what your researching but hopefully these points helped.

If it's an undergrad thesis I'd say you'll find it almost impossible to get the ethics approved to do it on groups like that. Unless it's not experimental. But hopefully you'll be able to find some way around it. Stick to something that interests you though, as it will drive you mad quicker if you're not interested in it :p
