AIG??? This is possibly the worst post in this forum's history and that's against some stiff competition

You have misunderstood me, My Op is asking what would be a good Investment.

I am asking about Pennystock. The stock from these companies is rock bottom
and take for example Irish company Newcourt it hit 0.10 yesterday and i was tempted to invest and it gained 25% profits today. It is just Newcourt hasn't risen in months and there is not much information available on it so its is a very risky gamble.

However it reaped as much a gain as Barclay's did today perhaps more and it is cheap.
McInerneys is another potential investment. Do you know of any good investments.

"AIG ?????" Is that all you can do!

I am not recommending AIG. The Goverment has invested 182 billion in a federal bail out to AIG and it stock price staggers at one dollar up and down,

There is a logical outcome of investing on the back of 182 billion dollars. Lloyds Bank had a helping hand from her majesty's treasury and has now performed admirably on last weeks stock exchange.

I am wondering if any of the penny stock have potential. If i had said to you that citibank would triple your money in a a few days then you would have been grateful.

Bears are so big they don't eat everything and there is the fox that follows behind the bear.

    Good morning Pirelli,
looking at the times of last nights posts, there may not be many awake just now!

I think that in the present time, the blasted heath that is the stock market has oppourtunities beyond belief. Shares are available at lower than asset values in many cases, but investors worldwide are reluctant/shocked at existing potential losses/skint/afraid. Money put into a mixed bag of shares now will give great returns over a few years even though some of those picked may fail alltogether.

There are several posters on here who say they have made considerable gains on short term trading, and there is every reason to believe them.

I have been a daily reader of these threads for over a year and unfortunately they have run out of steam somewhat because of bits of vitriol and entrenched positions and the one certain thing , that no one on here had forecast the turmoil ,and that very few know the way forward, or if they do, they have not posted.

For some one to have made 25% on Newcourt in a few days is ,of couse, a very good turn. These are those on here who will argue that is was a gamble ,not an investment.

There is not a lot of difference imo.

And now I would like to ask a tech question. There are, I think, 1000,million shares in Bank of Ireland(the number is immaterial for this question).

I can see the amount of shares which have been traded each day and I am sure One can see the weekly/monthly/ annual figures. However, what I want to know is how many shares of the total have not been sold at all in the last two years (say). This will let me know that it is the remaining amount which is being "churned", rather than a non stop stream of new sellers, and give me some inkling of how many had been dealt in by day traders.

    regards,Rugbyman

I was not recommending AIG Stock, but it was obvious you can make money on stock even AIG.
AIG just made a 7 % percent gain. While AIB has lost 0.5 %.

The stiff competition is obviously from posters like the above. :p

AIG is up a steady 30% since my post and strong trading forcing it to climb higher.

Newcourt on the Irish market is up 50% since my post after a steady rise.

    American Banks are up 20% - 40%

AIG is tied into the financial s so it will pullback if financials pullback but a good way to get 20 cent on your dollar.

You can throw percentages at me in regards to AIG but in reality you would have to be made to put money into them after all that has gone on within the company over the last years and how it all came to a head.

The fact that they owe the US government so much money means that their longer term outlook isnt strong enough to justify investment. Dont base investment decisions on historical prices

    Good investments?

Long term: Can't beat gold. May not make you much money but will preserve what money you have. Another good option would be alternative energy companies and mining companies e.g Barrick Gold.

Short term: God himself only knows.

Short term obviously Banks even AIG and foreign banks just to get a days percentage.
The MGM casino might now be a good short.

Long term : commodities and or copper etc.

According to my prices Newcourt was trading between 1c & 2c at the time of your post in march. At 6 now, 8 high this week!!

Anyone know anything about Prime Active. Similar to Newcourt, it's extremely low versus share price last year. Worth a punt? !!

Prime active: I do not know much about it. The last Investor update /report online from the company site was 2008 which is also the same setup for Newcourt. What does that say about the company!

My best Irish investment was AGI and that was based on "gut instinct" :D. It has brought back almost 100% return.
My best US was Barclay's Bank and is a thoroughbred winner

I know, I know, I was thinking about it too: I couldn't find out a thing about them and was in two minds whether to buy based on the chart alone and then while I am still thinking up 30%; Zamano is another one I can't seem to find a word about.

    Zamano
    http://www.deloitte.com/dtt/press_release/0,1014,cid%253D229348,00.html

Also this entered the market quite recently at 0.40 cent. It is now selling for 0.20 cent so I it is not quite AIB or BOI and doesn't have that potential for quadrupling in share value based on the market rebounding, but Zamano was growing at a rate of 1400% PA prior to the economic downturn and yet despite being ireland's fastest growing business and despite these record growth percentages it was unable to retain its share value. Whatever made it contract by 50% - 70%. All you can do is examine their balance sheets and calculate their financial outlook and cross your fingers, I agree though that they don't seem bothered about their company web pages. If its product can remain competitive in the mobile industry than there is no reason why it shouldn't be a good performer when the economy picks up. Will its products remain competitive during the slowdown?

    Extract

The company, which was founded in 2003 and has offices in the Digital Depot in Dublin and in Cork Technology Park, achieved an aggregate growth rate of 3,145% over the last five years. The average growth rate of the Fast 50 companies named in this year’s ranking was 460%.

Once again Zamano, a leading provider of mobile services in the UK, Australia and Ireland, put in a strong performance achieving second place for the second year in a row with an aggregate growth rate of 1,627%. Third place went to iSite, a technology solutions provider specialising in systems integration with an aggregate growth rate of 1,503%. This is the first year iSite achieved a ranking in the awards

Just an update on the discussion I tried to get started on these stocks. It's was not about complex options or elaborate strategies nor was there anything in what made these stocks stand out and nor can i understand why these performed as they did although it there a lot to be said for simple logical and technical analysis of charts and financial analysis of companies and their future outlook and I think these stocks warranted discussion at the time. It is a shame we couldn't get that discussion going.

What did happen with these stocks.

    Amercian Banks
Financial's Good to speculate for the next 2 year's and have since quadrupled loads of %

    Barclays Bank
    Rocketed loads of %

    British banks

    Aig
Up 100% ( up and down)

    Universal Energy corp
Penny stock No change in %
( company got issued an administrative penalty )

Cell Therapeutics Inc. UP 900%

    Irish
    Newcourt Up 900%
McInerney UP and down but finally a 30 % gain

I will say Newcourt was difficult to research.

Add IN&M too that list up from 0.9c-0.31 at fridays close, I feel we will see a pullback with profit taking of large caps with small caps out performing them giving better gains over the next few months or so.
