I would actually love to know how he managed to accrue a pension the size of his though.

He invested his pension contributions in a different plan to everyone else? (perhaps in an alternatve reality universe:rolleyes:)

Sure didn't you know himself and seanie fitz had their own little pension plan going, it was in one bank today, another bank tomorrow and the burst market never was able to catch up to it

Perhaps if he'd been given the job of managing some other pension funds, they would have performed just as well as his.

He probably wanted to keep his windows and limo intact after seeing what happened to those of Fred "The Shred" Goodwin, the former RBS chief.

I remember the days when INBS head office was the election centre of a now deceased FF minister. Sure it breaks their heart to go near him. They wouldn't if they had a choice.

Man shamed into returning a massive sum of money he did nothing to earn shocker.

Are we supposed to be impressed here?

    Not impressed, no.
I do think this event will be wheeled out in defence of FF when anyone questions them on what they are doing to face off the useless, corrupt top banking elite in this country.
As someone else said, it's breaking the gombeens hearts to do this to one of their own and boy, I think they'll milk it for all it's worth over the next few weeks.

As Freds 17 million STG comes out at considerably less that Fingers 27.6 million Yoyos , Fingers is probably thinking of buying a decoy car and gaff to keep the brick chuckers occupied. Him, Fitzpatrick, Drumm and co can have gill bowler organise a soiree in a place across the street while they watch the plebs mill about....

.... 2 and a half years later, and the newspapers report that Michael "Fingers" Fingleton "to give back €1m Bonus!"...

But yet again REFUSED, and now there are suspected expenses to add on..

And those expenses are believed to be "The Tip of an Iceberg"

I am sorry for reviving a two year old thread, but i think it goes to show, as everyone expected back then, that nothing has been/will be done..

I have no idea (Unfortunately for me) how much Interest his €1m would have generated him by now, but i'm guessing it's probably enough to be generating it's own noticeable amount of interest

“It is not at all acceptable for you to simply state that costs were incurred reasonably on behalf of the society without providing verifiable details,” Anglo chief executive Mike Aynsley said in his letter.

Might as well forward a copy of this to Dail Eireann :D

Clearly who you know in Ireland seems to make you eligible to charge your personal costs to your organisation whether it is a bank with the right connections or a political party.

Ya think? Pull the other one. Our best interests would only be served, if your nest egg was fully returned to the taxpayer and you ended up as someone's 'wife' in prison.

The sooner people realise that, in Ireland, the law and the supposed pursuit of justice, only applies to the little man, the sooner we'll stop getting excited about these "reports".

Puts a lot into perspective that this thread was raised from the dead (03/2009) and this insider has still not been brought to book.
    Incredible stuff.

Nobody else has either. Not one employee of the Dept of Finance, Central Bank or The Financial Regulator's office has been fired either. This imho should be the focus of the protest at the Central Bank next weekend.

There have been numerous incidents of solictors who acted fraudently and basically through deception stole from banks and in some cases stole their clients funds.
The highest profile ones have been michael lynn and thomas byrne whose charges date back to autumn 2007.
Have either of these appeared in court charged with fraud and criminal theft ?
Have warrants been issued for their arrest ?

Then there is also lesser fish like mary miley.

Has ponzi scheme man breffni o'brien gone to jail yet?
Oh wait he was arrested in July of this year even though his dirty little scheme came to light back in 2008.
Boy oh boy the hand of justice moves swiftly in Ireland for some.

If bernie madoff had been operating in Ireland he would still be operating.

+1 Isnt Lynn still wandering around the Algarve enjoying the high life.

Bertie & his ilk really brought this country to its knees, watched reeling in the years for 2001 recently, had to turn it off it was too frustrating seeing Bertie & McCreevey going on about ignoring EU sanctions on us as we lowering taxes too quickly and bumping up PS pay.
