    It's a paper form issued by the UK government's Department of Health and Social Security (DHSS)

    And the great thing about it is that every single year of your life is seemingly shorter than the ones that went before because you compare it as a percentage of your whole life so far up to that point.

    So before you know it another 28 years will have passed from this day and it will have felt even quicker in passing than the 28 you just lost in the blink of an eye between 1981-2009.

    Have a nice weekend!

    Submarine?

    It stands for Unemployment Benefit
    and 40 was the allotted payment at the time
    UB40 = Dole

    well what I was told when I asked what it meant

    UB40 was the card you took into the dole office every fortnight when you signed on as unemployed, it had your name, address, and NI number on. Supposedly you weren't allowed to sign on unless you brought it with you.

    Is also the name of a "reggae" group from England

    That's a great track all the same, imo proabably their best as it's less regae than all their other stuff whch gets the thumbs up from me.

    Spot on Lobelia. Rubbish weren't they. One trick ponies whose biggest hit was a cover version. They were about as inventive as a plate of spuds and peas. Chancers who got lucky and proceeded to annoy Pighead throughout the 80's on Top of the Pops.
