I applied for rent relief for the past 3 years in January, when can i expect to receive it? Could do with the sponds pretty badly... If its one of the things to be abolished in the budget, is there a chance that i wont get it at all even though i applied before the changes are implemented?

No - you'll definitely get a cheque for it and a credit for this year if you're working. it should be 4-6 weeks, I got my MED1 refund in that time after sending it in in late Jan.

Go into any revenue office or log in to the website, and fill in a RENT1 form, it's worth 400 quid for 2009, and I think about 360 for 2008, not sure what it was in previous years.
    It's a handy few quid back :)

The revenue use it or will use it in future, to weed out the landlords who haven't been paying tax on their rental income, so overall they're likely to save a lot of cash :P

Bladebrew, it's up to yourself whether you want to claim it or not, if you can afford it. Probably most of us are entitled to things we don't claim.

That 950 figure must have been for a few years together..I thought it was a fixed relief for a single person, fixed relief for married people per year?

Possibly, there's no way to know, could be in a year, could be in 5 years.
Either way it's not really your problem, I don't think there'd be a huge amount of sympathy for tax dodgers here, especially with people losing their jobs, etc.
