Pre nuptial enquiry form

I'm getting married abroad and just getting the paper work together. We don't attend our local church as we are not particularly religious but we're getting married in a church to please the parents. Whats the story with the pre nuptial enquiry form? Do we make an appointment with our local priest who we don't know?
Also anyone know about getting a letter from the bishop before getting married in Italy? How long does that take?

You make an appointment with your local parish priest. Before going to see him you need to have your letters of freedom, copies of your birth and baptisimal certificates, plus copies of your passports and your pre marriage course cert. In Italy you can't sent this stuff to the Italian bishop until 3 months before hand. The priest fills in the form and he send it to the bishop who sends it on to Italy.
    Hope this helps :-)
