Hello people..hoping someone here can help.

Have been using Cubase on an XP machine..1GB Dualcore..recording is fine..some projects were beginning to lag as the tracks piled up (which is to be expected I know). So... i have installed Cubase Sx3 on another machine I have..2.4 Quad core, 3GB RAM. It works, but at a slower pace than the 'slower'/first machine..
Not sure if it might be a buffer size issue, or a sync set-up issue, or if the version of Cubase/XP won't recognise quadcore processors properly??
It seems to be fine for all other tasks and I am leaning towards it being a problem with the way I have set up Cubase. It's playing and recording and recognising hardware etc. but just not as it should be...there is a lag on the meters in the mixer etc.
Hope this post isn't too confusing!!!
    Thanks guys

go in to the bios and turn OFF EIST or speed stepping on the cpu and see how you get on

then do an ASIO SETUP in cubase , also check cubase is set to multicore - but it should be already

cubase woulndt even run for me until i turned off EIST - now it flys like R kelly from a school yard
