    Worth waiting for??

I'm trying to resist buying anything until the panasonic comes out - just so I end up with the right PVR not just the first one. Also I think there is a Metronic one in the pipeline - not that I expect it to outdo the other two.

    Hi guys,

Yes I think its worth holding out for!

Martin, Whats this metronic? Is it Freesat + PVR ?

John, Get with the program jeeze! A man of your calibre and expertise should be keeping ahead of the posse!! (Different appliance altogether) Lol

Metronic is a French Manufactuer, they sell a lot of quite good receivers here in Ireland through Maplins as well as other distributors.....havent really found any reliable news as to what their Freesat equipment will entail but personally I would hold off as they will become better and better over time and a whole lot cheaper me thinks

    Hi Steveon,

Yea, I'd heard of Metronic, I had a Digital Multimeter (Great DMM) from them years back but I hadn't realised they made AV products.

The Panny is too expensive but they must be offering something great if they think they can charge such a premium, else it just won't sell in volume!

I'm sure it must be sweet music to Humax ears to hear their nearest competitor or one off is so expensive..

Panasonic are set to release possibly 3 different models - prices are still guesstimates. I hope that the basic model will be competitive to the Humax - factoring in that it will also include a DVD Rec as well ass HDD (its the blue ray models that are expected to be silly money). I think I read May as the approx due date. Metronic already have a Freesat HD box out - I think June ish is the time frame for a PVR from them. I also expect the price of the PVR's to soften as more appear & the rush for the Humax dies down.

    Hi,

Getting close now to the launch of this baby, I have requested a price and availability on one from Stegen Electronics as I want a multi-region one

Stegen don't have it listed as it's a UK product only but he has assured me that they will look into it and see if it can be modded like the BD 60

Fingers crossed (if it's v expensive, I'll go with the standard version)

    Way too expensive.

I believe its £999 for 500Gb BR version, £899 for the 250GB BR version, £699 for the 250GB DVD version.

So was my Mazda MPS but I still bought one!

I don't know, it is expensive but I thought you could copy once BBChd to Blu ray, all I want is to copy the odd Documentary to blu ray and there is talk of ITV coming around in the future.
