Orthodontists .......... busy people

    Hi

I've 3 kids who went for a dental check recently (aged 15 - 9). The dentist referred them to an Orthodontist for a check - and I'm told that two of the three will have overcrowding and will need a brace. The third looks ok, for now - but his bite is wrong.

Here's my concern .......... if I took 47 kids to the Orthodontist, is there a likelihood that every one of them would need some form of corrective action???? Where is the current trend coming from where so many youngsters need braces? Has the design of our offsprings' teeth and / or mouths suddenly become faulty, or is there a market being created into which we're being pulled, with dire warnings about the damage we'll do to our children's teeth if we do not pay up for the prescribed braces???

    All input greatly accepted!
