One just announced for Thurs 2nd April.
    Details at:
    http://www.rte.ie/news/2009/0326/siptu.html

Any thoughts on the chances of it being called off? I was due to the fly Continental @ 9am to Newark for a few days.
In that situation, I wonder would Continental reroute to Belfast (where they already fly in and out of to Newark), or would they just delay the flights till that afternoon? Neither is ideal.

Surely if these wildcats want to strike giving late notice on the 26'th of March for a strike starting 0400 on 2nd April is stretching the 7 day notice of strike far never mind the fact siptu re denying it's an official strike.

Even if they count the 7 days it's sloppy law allowing 7 days to be less than 168 hours.

unwarranted unofficial strike action and secondary strikes should be dealt with harshly, using the same disciplinary action as unexplained absences from work would be.

Should be more severe -- it's an explained absence, just not a valid one -- they should be immediately kicked out of the job, with their security passes revoked.

Im flying from Galway that day. Presumably its not effected because its not listed, but does anyone know why the regional airports dont seem to be effected? Different unions?
