    Hi,

I'm traveling at the moment and bought a new laptop, uploading new music I bought along the way onto iTunes. I also have an iPod that I took from home with music on it from my computer at home.

So I'd like to get my new music onto my iPod without messing up my current files on my iPod.Is this possible to do?Just not sure as i'm shady about this end of iTunes.

    Cheers all

It is indeed, just as soon as you connect the iPod to iTunes, select it in the Devices on the left and check in the middle of the page the following:

    * Manually manage music and videos
    * Sync only checked songs and video

This way, iTunes won't delete the contents of your iPod first when you try add songs or sync.

My only problem with this is that you have to connect up the iPod before you can see the iPod sync settings, and for me anyway, it seems to start syncing straight away when I plug it in - those 5 seconds between plugging it in and getting to this page could be vital.

I originally thought that too but that Sync is only to iTunes telling it what iPod it is, how large it is and the settings etc. iTunes won't remove all the music unless you try copy music from the different library to the iPod.

    So your all good ;)
