What kind of place is it to do the test? Is it in Wexford town or Gorey? Just wondering cause I've just asked for a test there. How does it size up to Wicklow? Easier/Harder?

Theres a test centre in wexford and in gorey.

Cant compare it to anywhere else though!

Ive my test there 9th april! So ill tell ya then! By driving the test routes with my instructor they dont seem that bad anyway!

By reading the other thread you seem to have the test on monday?! If so let me know how it goes and what you thought of it! I would recommend coming down early maybe and getting a lesson or two in just ot know the area, theres a new junction at the hospital entrance which is quite confusing for example! If you want ill send you my instructors number....

by all accounts gorey is the better option as there is only one or two test routes!

having a bit of experience of driving tests id avoid wexford town i found they marked hard and the town itself is difficult alot of traffic, narrow streets hills etc! passed mine in enniscorthy.

PM me ill pass on the number of a very good instructor who will do wex or gorey if you want, i had failed two when i went to him, passed the next one!

Gorey would be the easiest out of the three alright. I also know a very good instructor there too so PM me if you want his number.

I went and drove around the test routes yesterday so it was grand today.

Enniscorthy is already closed, sgs are doing tests out of whites hotel in wexford, as said before they close down on aprill 10th. Of all the 3 test centres i would pick wicklow wexford then gorey, in that order.

By the way sgs are also doing tests in gorey and wicklow town untill april 10th

    Wexford Driving Test Centre

    The Maldron Hotel

    Former Quality Hotel

    Ballindinas

    Co Wexford

Sounds good to me. Any tips?

    The usual stuff really.

When you enter the hotel its down to the left by the playground! diown the hill, so the first bit of driving is basically a hill start!

Other than that they take you to the roundabout outside first either to go fully around and come back the way you went out or take the first left! If they bring you up by the hospital, be very aware of the new lights! Theres arrows for straight on and right turn and the right turn one goes off fairl early, hsve a look at that before! Other than that i cant think of anything major on any of the routes, theres a junction on one that you cant see down one road, so if its a nice day, let the window down a little and creep out!

Cheers timmy, I'll check out that new hospital junction early and have a general drive in Wexford. Are the roads really narrow or what? Full of potholes? How's the traffic? Mines at 3:45PM. Cheers.

Roads arent that narrow no, in general, one or two are a little bit all the same. The main test area is up near the industrial estate, so decent roads, all of the routes seem to end up around there! Up anyway near lidl gaa park, fire station, atlantic homecare and the likes.

Traffic would be light enough, although at that time your hitting school traffic, but at the same time it wont be terribly heavy around the test area id imagine!

No worries, running over a school childs only a grade 1 for reaction to hazards right?

Thanks Timmy, I'll let you know how I get on. Oh yeah, I meant to ask you, are there many pedestrian crossings?

Theres not really many on the roads themselves afaik, but therey are fans of randpom crossing just when your coming off mini roundabouts and the like! Something extra to watch out for!
