    ...for compression on the master buss? Here's what I'm using now:

    Threshold: -10
    Ratio: 2:1
    Soft Knee
    Attack: .5ms
    Release: .035s

    Also, would I still use compression in the mastering phase as well as here?

    threshold doesnt really matter too much as its really dependant on what your input into the mix buss is.

    ratio i usually keep low - 3:1 or 2:1 is more than enough

    attack i usually set quite slow to let transients thru

    release quite fast (but not too fast so as to pump)

    the type of compressor you use is also a major factor as these settings on an ssl G comp will be a world of differance to a neve or a dangerous 2buss.
