    Hey All,

I have a 98 e36 coupe. The glove box lock has broken so i have to jam it shut. Anyone else had this problem. Whats the solution? Do i need to replace the entire glove box?
Also the drivers seat is worn away at the side and there is a small hole in the fabric. I've seen this same problem on other e36's. Does anyone have any advice on repairing this?
Besides these problems it's perfect so fairly eager to get it sorted!!

Thanks in advance for the help

    glovebox lock removal: http://www.bimmerdiy.com/diy/e36gblockremoval/
As for the drivers seat, you could get cheap seat covers or get the seat re-upholstered. It could work out cheaper buying a new seat from ebay!

Cool, i might check out gumtree and ebay so. Any idea if there is a good breaking or scrap yard for BMWs in Dublin? Save on the postage costs!

Hi, where is the hole in your seat? If it is in the base of the seat the job becomes a whole lot easier. The base is held onto the seat frame with four push fit clips (see "clamps" in diagram linked below). So find a similar seat in a breakers yard, a passenger seat base is the same shape on the e36, literally yank it away from the seat base pan. You will have to buy four new clips (Clamps), about 50 cent each as you will break the old ones.
I done this same trick a few years ago in an e36 saloon.

Clip (clamp) BMW part number = 52108130678 (by 4)

    No it's a blue 318is!

Rebel....the hole is on the right side of the base. So you saying that if i find a colour match i only need to take out the pad seat and replace that. Thats very handy to know! Cheers for that
