Hi there just failed NCT with some small issues but the two main ones are the following:
Anti Roll Bar, Torque Arm/Rod Condition Worn -- Offside Rear
    &
Brake Lines/Hoses : Condition advanced corrosion -- Offside Rear.

Does anyone know if these are big jobs or relatively small. Need to get them sorted --- someone was trying to explain to me whether or not the brake line was rubber or steel if it was rubber its a small job if its steel it could be much bigger.

Dont know about the Torque Arm

    Any help would be good

Not that big a deal. You can replace steel brake pipe with copper pipe which any good motor factors can make up for you. They're probably talking about the anti-roll bar bush which is easily replaced.

    Not too major to fix.

One good thing about the NCT is that it shows up things like this. Wouldn't like to be trying to stop in a hurry when the brake line gave up the ghost.

    Hi guys,
Thanks for your help will be avoiding the main dealer for this and will try and get what i can fixed.

FJ1200 Does that mean the Hyundai Coupe has a steel breaking system and not a rubber hose?

    Thanks again

It'll have both. The steel ones run along under the car and change to rubber at the wheel. But changing either is simple enough and not expensive.

All cars have both steel and rubber parts in the braking systems. The pipes that travel the length of the car and sometimes the ones on the hubs are steel because they don't have to move, but there is usually a rubber bit joining them to allow for movement in suspension etc. The rubber pipe is not simply rubber. It is usually reinforced with steel wire.
