Recieved smart modem but still connected with eircom

Hi, Im moving broadband provider from eircom to smart. I ordered smart around a month ago and recieved the modem today. My eircom broadband is still connected. is this normal? Or should it be cut off by now? What is the likely downtime during the switch? thanks

Downtime should be very short. You normally get the modem first.
