Anyone know where I can find some good tutorials for getting started on Drupal? Google search wasn't too helpful.

Dupal documentation is available here http://drupal.org/getting-started

The documentation could be better, but that should be all you need started with Drupal, it's quite easy.

You might find it a steep learning curve when you try to achieve some of the more difficult elements to drupal

Have you seen SiteGround's Drupal Tutorial? If you just want to get up and running with Drupal it will help you.

I'd recommend two books for learning Drupal.

Using Drupal (O'Reilly) - It will get you started and show you how to use features of Drupal in a tutorial fashion.
Pro Drupal Development, Second Edition (Apress) - It doesn't hold your hand and walk you through how to install Drupal or modules and themes, it dives straight into writing code.
