VW Golf lock

    The front door lock on my 99 golf dosent work. Can i change it for the passanger door lock? The central locking works fine
    If not how much would it cost to buy a new one and change it.

    Can anyone recommend someone who could do this at a reasonable price?

    dont think you can use the p. side lock as its prob a mirror mold of the drivers side. new lock i think cost around €200 + labour but dont quote me.

    Person i know same thing happened in there 01 golf and cost around 90euro for vw to get a new one and fit it.

    I got a repair kit off ebay for about £15 took 2 hours to fit, though once I did it it would only take 15 minutes the next time (I'm a bit slow) Its a fairly simple process and a whole lot cheaper....

    I got quoted 80 I think for a new barrel from a dealer in galway.

    Ive have sort of the same problem myself, the door handle has sort of popped out. The car still locks fine but the door handle doesn't properly close on the driver's door. Seems as if someone tried to pull it too hard.

    Any suggestions on how to fix it or does the handle need to be replaced? (03' Golf)

    About this repair kit from ebay what is it called exactly? I think the front door lock is broken but not sure. All doors will lock when i lock the front passanger door with key.
    Sounds interesting is it a whole new lock for 15 euro?

    Also the 80 euro to get a new lock supplied and fitted is that a VW dealer garage?
