Well my 06 Passat is also due a full service and timing belt and I got quoted (all from main dealers) €1080, €960 and €800.

Was gonna go with the last one, but VW Enniskillen will do the lot for £615 (roughly €650 at the minute) so I'm taking her up on Friday :)

    Just to update..

Brought the car in yesterday morning and got the lot done for £638 - turns out there's an electrical/wiring problem with one of the front parking lights that they tried to fix but as the car still has another few weeks of warranty with the dealer I bought it from, I'll let them sort it out this week.

All in all though was impressed.. they even washed the car for me before handing back the keys (wasted unfortunately with yesterday's weather but a nice touch all the same) so I'd happily bring it back to them next time.

I know a very very good polish mechanic who'd do it for €150-200. He did my heas gasket, t-belt, water pump, full service, and checkd all turbo pipework for €250 labour. He even fixed up the hydraulic tappets while he was in there!

Does anyone know a good VW mechanic in Mayo that does not charge the dealer prices. Are there any VW mechanics that do some work on the side in the evenings? Thanks for any help.
