Being an Aviation forum, we're obviously going to be getting lots of images included inline with threads. Unfortunately, boards.ie doesn't yet have an auto-image resizing module, so if you insert a large image, it forces people to scroll left/right/up/down and throws the whole thing out of whack.

Can we start resizing the images we're including from now on? 500 pix wide should be more than enough to show any detail, and if you want to link to larger images, sites such as imageshack can provide you with clickable small images that popup the larger ones when clicked making the whole thing much more elegant.

If we all pull together on this, it'll make our forum much easier to read and digest.

OR.....Just upload to Photobucket which resizes for you and then copy and paste the IMG into a Boards post.

The "aviation pics - post yours" thread can be a little heavy alright.

For those who don't frequent the photography forum much, they have random photo threads, and the rule there is no image can longer than 800 pixels on the longest side, seems to work for most people, both for varying monitor resolutions and internet connection speeds.

500px might be a little on the small side.

Does anyone think this should actually be noted in the aviation pics thread?

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, I'll alter the thread title, and make a reference in the thread too.
