I have busted one of the snap buttons on one of the straps from my Molle Hydration Pouch - does anyone know where I might get it replaced? Was thinking maybe a shoe repair place or something might have that facility. Has anyone had them fixed before? Thanks!

I would say your best bet would be to go to a tailor and see what they can do.

The great outdoors use to do them, and there was a place on the wellington quay, if it's still there.

As long as you haven't ripped the material too bad, then it should be easy enough to fix. You should be able to get it fixed in a shoe repair shop. Or maybe someone in a material shop will do it for you. Perhaps The Woollen Mills on Ormond Quay. Its literally a 2 second and 2 cent job, so don't let them shaft you for it.

It's just the button itself that's broken - the material is fine so it's just a matter of finding the right size button and a crimping tool (or whatever it is they use!).
I'll give that place a try on the quays. Thanks for the help guys - it's a pity Boards doesn't have a haberdashery forum!! :P

Would this, by any chance, be a ebaybanned hydration carrier?
Asking as the button broke on my one the first time I tried to open it.

Close! It was an eHobby Asia one and it broke the first time I opened it to mount it on my vest! In fairness to them they offered to replace it but it meant sending it back and really wasn't worth it as it only cost $14 so they are crediting my account instead and I'll just get it fixed. I'll let you know where & how I got it fixed when I get it sorted.

Ok, just an update on my quest for snap button repairs! The shoe repair place 'Tara Leathers' on Tara Street (just around the corner from the Dart station) sorted me out. Was a tad pricey for what it was but at least it's sorted now. It cost €3 for the new fastener and he charged €3 to replace it. I'm all ready to be re-hydrated now - yippee!!:D

Wow they actually charged you for them to replace it. I knew Tara leathers were expensive but that is a bit much for 2 minutes work...

Yeah, it was a bit steep alright but TBH I had tried a few boot makers and alteration places already with no luck. It was also starting to rain, my lunchbreak was almost over and I was starting to grow weary...:(
If it happens to me again (and I'm sure it will!) I'll try some other places and try get a better bargain!

Steep though it may be, glad to hear you were able to get it fixed.
