    Hi,
I just recently had a walnut stairs installed, well walnut treads and handrail, the rest red deal, which i will paint a sort of ivory eggshell.
Regarding the walnut, what is the best way to go about this? Do
i lightly sand them first, then apply a laquer/varnish, or do they
need some sort of 'undercoat'. I want a really highly polished look to
the walnut. Any advice on what products to use would be appreciated.
